File this under small “a” for a little bit amusing… I’m also posting it in honor of all our visitors who come here often and in large numbers to learn more about barcodes, of the GS1 variety or otherwise since Loftware has been pioneering barcode management software for over twenty years.
So here’s the story. Note it comes from the Charlestown Daily Mail, the irony of which will become apparent in a moment. A bank robber walks up to a teller, hands over a note, demands money, walks off with cash, and drives away with an accomplice. Just one problem:
Investigators were able to locate Elmore and Bowman because a piece of paper left at the crime scene had a postal barcode stamped onto it, according to police. The barcode was traced back to a home in Orchard Manor, officers said… Elmore and Bowman were arrested when they returned to the residence, police said.
Not exactly prime candidates for the Mensa Society these two birds, wouldn’t you agree?
