Chances are you’ve never heard of Mr. Harrij Schmeitz. But so you know, Mr.Schmeitz works at the Imtech Food & Feed Competence Centre where he is a specialist on chain-information-management, the trends and innovations in technology, and their effects on agri- & food-chains. OK, so maybe you’re interest in feed and grain chains isn’t very moo-mentous either? Still, I think Mr. Schmeitz has an important message or two for all of us in the non agri- and food supply chain.
At this blogsite, and in his most recent post, Mr. Schmeitz not only says GS1 is leading the way in the feed supply chain information managament eficiency, but he estimates how much is being lost in sales due to supply chain management inefficiency: …the business is losing on average 3.5% of sales due to inefficiencies in the management of supply chain information.
